“It says under "TUNER" that is has AM/FM, HD, Satellite Ready. Does the "HD" mean that it will automatically pick up the local HD stations? Nothing extra needed? (I'm asking because I saw the question about needing something installed for Sat Radio).”

It will pick up local HD stations but to make it more perfect, you need to buy a separate antenna adapter. This will be connected to the stereo and then to the old stock antenna of your vehicle. On best buy website, search for the antenna adapter and key in your vehicle.
