It is a 2 coil subwoofer. Each coil is 4 ohm and it is wired in parallel internally. When parallel you divide in half. Giving you 2 ohm. Amplifiers come in all styles 1 ohm, 2 ohm and 4 ohm. This subwoofer would be perfect with a 2 ohm mono (1 channel) amp of 400W to 600W. I hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You use either a 2ohm or 4ohm amp which most amps on the market today can do both. Where the difference lies is how much the amp can power at these ohms. For example a 1000 watt amp at 4ohm might only be an RMS at 250 where as a 2ohm might give you 500 RMS. So really all you have to pay attention to is how much RMS the amp is providing at each ohm rating. Hope this helps! Good luck
