“Is it possible to disable/disconnect the SOS function on this phone? My 78 y.o. Mom is in a long term care facility and would not need the sos function - otherwise I think the phone would work for Her.”

SOS number is not 911. It is just a number that you program into the phone. They do not recommend programming 911 since it could be accidentally called.
