A:Answer Our previous unit was electric with downdraft, but that ate into the cabinet space underneath. This unit is electric, but NO DOWNDRAFT. We installed a venthood over it by simply cutting a 7-inch hole and using some ducting (ask your local hardware store for the stuff that is made to handle heat.)
