The speakers produce 97 decibels at one (1) watt. FYI, that level of loudness is very loud, enough to cause hearing loss if prolonged period time serious damage at 8 hours. 95 dB is as loud as a car without a muffler, ATV, motorcycle, or a gas powered lawnmower cycle (earplugs are necessary). You could power those speakers with a 67 W amplifier without breaking a sweat, you could power those speakers loud enough for the neighbors to call the police. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Sony STR-DH790 supplies around 67 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms (20-20,000 Hz) at 0.09% THD, with 2 channels driven. The R-800F should be connected to a receiver that supplies closer to 150 Watts at 8 Ohms to ensure quality audio reproduction and longevity of the speaker's components.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m driving 7 of these with my 790 and if anything, they’re easier to drive than my old Polk T50s! They have an easier load and are more efficient. I’ve driven them hard a couple of times with no problem. I just gotta remember to turn on my 3 speed table fan to blow cool air across the receiver. That’s all. Have fun!
