I use just for music, vinyl specifically. They have a pretty strong bass but I still prefer having the Klipsch subwoofer at -7db. It’s the engine to me and gives live music specifically the depth needed. Klipsch has the proper cross over settings to program the sub so it doesn’t over power. I also raise the treble to +3 on the speakers giving a brighter sound to enhance vocals, piano, and more hidden layered sounds that often go unheard. A center speaker would only be necessary if adding to 2 more in the back for cinema surround. The 2 for music envelope a small to large room very well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is a reviewer on here who did an overview of them and said they were lacking a bit in the mid range. I just picked up a pair to put as my fronts pushing a pair of R-620F to surround in turn pushing a pair of R610F to the rear. I also have an R-52C center and dual R- 12SW subwoofers. I got these because I had a gap between the 6.5" 620/610 combo and the 12"subs. I listen to mainly music as well, usually in "all channel" mode but later at night or any other "quiet time" I set my AVR to play in 2 channel stereo mode with just the front. I did notice a slight deficiency in the mid range at first but I did a decent break in consisting of a standard by which many experts recommend coupled with one that I have developed myself and I don't notice that now. They sound quite good full range with even distribution across the low, mid and high but I have abused my hearing over the years so I am by far no audiophile however most people who come over say that my system sounds amazing which of course it does to me so I would say that if you are a recreational listener who enjoys vinyl, FM radio, CD, and digital files such as mp3 etc and you have a good amp and know how to properly break them in, you'll love them but if you are an audiophile who is super tuned for very high end recordings you may find the shortcomings in the midrange as these are only 2 way speakers and might be better off looking at something a bit more sophisticated such as focal or B&W, etc. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Good and smart.I listen to good old fashion vinyl with mine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Harman Kardon HK 3490 should supply sufficient power for the intended use you have described. As long as you do not crank the volume for an extended period of time, you should enjoy distortion free music from these speakers!
