Because they think we don't understand drive speeds... I assume. It took me hours to find drive speeds for certain Seagate and WD drives as well....INTERNAL DRIVES!!!. This is a 5400RPM. Safe to say anything without a power source is this speed. If this was a USB 3.! drive... then I'd be annoyed if it wasn't a 7200.

Please try again later.I can't answer why the rpm is not stated by the manufacturer but I did some digging on the interwebs and it appears to be that model STFR2000800 (LACIE RUGGED USB-C - HARD DRIVE - 2 TB) is running at 5400rpm. This little orange life raft looking thing is plenty fast and tough for this road warrior. I'm happy with this purchase.
