I think you may encounter issues with stability and balance if used with a 15.6-inch laptop, but it maybe worth the risk as I think this is a great lapdesk. My household has two which we use with a 13.3-inch laptop and a 14-inch laptop. I also use it on my desk to elevate my laptop as this makes typing more comfortable.

Keep in mind it will stick off a little but it does work. They recommend a certain size usually because if it doesn’t fit perfect and hangs off they can’t get bad reviews or slammed for making it the wrong size. I got this and it works for my 15” and my sons 15”5. Perfectly it hangs off the sides a little but is definitely worth it.

I have a 15” and it fits perfectly but I also have a little bigger one and it still works for it. My sons laptop is very large one of the biggest laptop screens I’ve ever seen and in general and he uses one and it works great.
