I also have this laptop and noticed a slight grinding/ scratching sound from the right top area when scrolling with the mouse in addition to the fan always running. What you have to do is right-click on the battery icon on the bottom right and select the "Power Saver" plan in the "Choose or customize a power plan" option. The fan runs a lot less and the scratching sound is gone. I tried Lenovo support but they weren't any help except to direct me to return the brand new laptop or send it to them for support. Cheers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. What you are probably encountering is the machine running updates. The background tasks can raise CPU usage to a level that gets the fan revving pretty good. Should be a temporary irritation. I've had the laptop for 1 month, and I'm not currently noticing any of this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i've had the i5 version of this laptop for 14 days and was aware of the fan issue when i bought it. for those considering either model, there have been two bios updates from Lenovo (go to support page on lenovo's site) to address the fan noise. Now the fan rarely comes on, and when it does kick in noise is greatly reduced. what's important to know is that the fan comes on more when plugged in as opposed to when on battery. even more so, when using chrome the fan comes on more frequently. when using MS Edge the fan doesn't come on so it's likely something in the resources used by Chrome. When watching 1080p videos, listening to music, working in excel, playing non-demanding games i have not had any fan start-up using edge. Only chrome seems to get the fan going.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine never makes much noise. You might have a defective unit. Laptops have a 2 week return period.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Lenovo addressed this issue. Find your exact model on their website and you can upgrade your BIOS. This seems to calm the fan down considerably.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 710-15. This is a high performance system. It has both the top of the line Intel Core I-7 processor and a dedicated graphics processor. The fan will run often, even at idle. You can run a diagnostic through software available at Lenovo.com. Driver updates are also there if you need to update any drivers.
