• There will be some fan noise when the fan is running, but if you put the computer in to sleep mode when not in use, there will be no noise at all.

• "Noisy," is a bit subjective, but I actually forget it is on, so either it is very quiet, and it's two feet from my head on the desk, or I had a really noisy tower before. I think it's pretty quiet actually.
