“Would it still be possible to purchase Best Buy's Accidental Damage Plan. I would hate to buy a computer and have it fall apart shortly after purchase and the Geek Squad guys blame it on an outside issue before they inspected it.”

If you buy a Geek Squad Certified Refurbished computer, the burden of proof is on you that you did not cause what might have been a pre-existing condition. This happened to me, I paid over $800 to basically rent a computer for less than 7 months since it completely failed. It was within the 1 year warranty, but they claim it must have occurred after I got it and so will not stand behind the warranty. I would not buy a refurbished/certified computer from Best Buy.
