Pretty good, but has its quirks!

I've owned this laptop for about 2 months now. Overall I am pleased with it. It has good battery life, good screen definition, pretty quick... lightweight... portable... etc. However, it has several quirks. Transitioning back and forth between tablet and laptop mode freezes the computer sometimes. In these instances, the mouse disappears, and the keyboard inactivates as if its stuck between both modes. Sometimes the wifi goes out, and it requires a restart to bring it back to normal. In every one of its issues, a simple shut down, restart remediates the problem. I would buy again though. Still worth it.

    good at refurbished price

I like the flexibility of the Yoga design of flipping to different shapes. Screen resolution is great. Hoping that upcoming Windows 10 solves the scaling problems (some apps very small to read). Wish it had more battery life at a good screen brightness (almost max) because I'm getting only about 4-5 hours. But the rest of the machine is nice enough that I'll live with that. Chose this instead of the new Yoga 3 pro because that box seems to have performance problems with the new M-core chip. Geek Squad says the networking stopping issue is a Windows problem. When network stops, I uninstall the network driver and restart the computer to get it back again, and it works.

    Great HD Display!

Excellent, fast computer with High Definition screen that is outstanding. Battery lasts plenty long. It comes with Windows 8.1 with a touch screen which I think is necessary for Windows 8.1. Only problem I have had is that the HD screen is not compatible with all software, so check before you buy.

    Nice 2-in-1 laptop

So far so go, 1st time purchasing a refurbished item. Decent laptop, very fast, great screen resolution, battery lasts a little over 6 hours. Only downside is the small hard drive and no DVD. Challenges loading certain apps. Like the 2-in-1 options (rotating and flipping keyboard, flat like a tablet). Lenovo 2-in-1s are a great option for mobile computing. Only down for me is Windows 8, not a fan of this OS and it's very hard to find a new laptop without it.

    Terrific Buy!!!

The laptop was shipped promptly and looks brand new; like it had never been used. My initial setup worked flawlessly and then the wireless network card "stopped working" with an error message stating that it could not be found. I figured I'd have to return it for a refund, but I let the Geek Squad guy have a look. Turns out there was some kind of glitch between the pre-installed McAfee software trial and the network adapter. He asked if it would be ok to remove McAfee and fixed it while I waited. Once that was done, the laptop works flawlessly. If not for this minor hiccup, I would have given this 5 stars. It looks and runs like new and is half the price of a new one. I'm happy!

    Amazing laptop for the price!

For the every day user, this is an amazing value. Plenty of DDR3 memory, and a SSD to deliver what you need quickly. Tied together with a proven i7 processor provides smooth performance. The screen is absolutely beautiful, and a high def resolution landscapes plenty of work space. Loving the backlit keyboard, easy to see and use. Everything said, the one aspect of this laptop I love the most is the size. At just a hair over 1/2" thick, this is thinner then my Samsung chromebook! Small enough to have as a larger tablet, and large enough to be a fully functional laptop. Windows 8.1 is an every day struggle that is just painful to use, although a free windows 10 option brings the best tablet options from 8, and a revised desktop start menu creates a more user friendly operating system interface. For more advanced users, it is important to know that despite the 64bit os, this system is not 64bit friendly. Little problems loading a few different 64bit Linux flavors, nothing an avid linux user can't overcome. Mint installed without any problems. You can however expect problems loading a 64bit os in a VM. As a long time ASUS fan, the flipbook transformer was my next choice. In the end, this is exactly what I was looking for, and would buy it again full price. This is a lean, mean, processing system. I'm a hard person to please, and this meets every expectation I had. REFURBISHED! You don't get a fancy box, or book. What you get is a laptop, and a power cord. Mince came in very good condition, despite a small pen mark on the top, and a scuff one corner. This is however hardly noticeable (I had to look very hard for any imperfections), and nothing anyone wouldn't manage on their own within one week.

Thought is was going to be a good one

I purchased the laptop mostly because it has the screen size I wanted along with SSD and light weight. It was a refurb so I thought there may be cosmetic issues but it looked brand new, screen, keys, and case. Unfortunately the screen started to pixelate after about a week. Seemed like it was a driver issue but I opted just to return it and look for something else. No problems as far as the return process.

I've now had this computer for over a month. I was a bit apprehensive as some of the reviews were great and some terrible. I can say that I've had a great experience with it so far. The tablet mode is a bit unwieldy, but thats because I opted for the larger size (13.3). As a laptop, its tiny and LIGHT. I also like tent mode (or whatever its called). I sit it down on the kitchen table and my kids watch videos. The sound is pretty great. I mostly use it for work and it has performed like a champ

Excellent laptop once you get one that works

    Posted .

I've previously purchased numerous refurbished products from various retailers and have never had a problem with them working, until now. Being that this was Geek Squad Certified, I thought it would have been thoroughly inspected and that I would have no issues with the laptop working. In fact, the description reads that "Geek Squad® Certified Refurbished products are thoroughly, painstakingly and lovingly tested, so you can be sure that your device will work right, right away." Needless to say, I received a laptop that booted up but once booted it would report hard disk errors. I updated WIndows hoping that there would be some kind of update or that it would self-repair using chkdsk. I ended up returning that laptop and placed a new order. Well, the new laptop arrived and I was pleased that everything updated smoothly and worked as it should, however, I was still disappointed with the numerous deep scratches on the housing. The trackpad was heavily soiled and the keyboard contained dirt/stains. Again, the description states that this item shall be "Like New." Again, I was disappointed but I ended up keeping it despite its imperfections. So, about the Yoga 2 Pro. It's an excellent laptop, feels light, good size, great performance, excellent display and features. The only things that keeps it from being perfect for me is that it does not have an ethernet port and the wireless card does not have an AC band. There are adapters available to add an ethernet port and wireless N is ok but it would have been great to have a wireless AC band.

I was very surprised by the condition of this laptop. There are no marks or anything to make me think that it is refurbished. I may have gotten lucky, but this was a great bang for my buck and I am very pleased with my purchase. Also, knowing if there is anything wrong with it Best Buy is very lenient with returns. That made this purchase much easier. Overall, great product and better than expected!

Received Yoga pro 2 in good condition. Performed as expected and cheaper than getting a brand new Yoga Pro 2. Has been using it for a month now and still satisfied with its performance.

The laptop is light weight. It has SSD drive so it bootsup in seconds. Great resolution. Its only drawback is that the touch screen lags (compared to iPad)

Nice laptop if you can keep it connected to wifi

I purchased this laptop in March 2015 from Best Buy Outlet. Not long after I got it, I began to have problems with the wifi connection. When it got worse, I started checking on my warranty and found out it expired in early July (less than 90 days) because it started when it left Lenovo. Best Buy's solution was for me to purchase Geek Squad protection. I paid $900 for this laptop from the outlet. I think Best Buy should support their products longer than this. I was probably my fault for not reading all the fine print. Caveat Emptor!

Unfortunately I received it and my tech guy has been having difficulty getting it to work properly. He has had issues with the touchpad being giddy and unstable. He tells me he believes it is a software problem. I am still waiting for him to give me a final verdict. I like the laptop if the problem is resolved.

if you are those kind of people who doesn't care about the fancy box or the nice cellophane, wel this is a great opportunity for you. The laptop is fast, light versatile. The downside is that when I use Chrome to browse the web, the pages seems to load slower than my macbook air that comes with an i5 processor and only 4GB of ram.

Great Condition for a Refurbished PC

I already own two of the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro. This one does not disappoint as well. Included a AC network card which is an improvement. Updated it to Windows 10 and the only issue is the occasional video drop out for 2 seconds and then no problems for hours, not sure if this a Windows 10 feature or not.

This is an awesome laptop, however I bought a Geek Squad refurbished unit and it arrived with a blown left speaker, which taking it back to my local store said it needed to be sent away for repair and will take at least 2-3 weeks to return.

I enjoy the ease of use...carry in my handbag from work to school no bulk. Battery life is fantastic and came highly recommended from my brother who use his for business travel. 4 star bc I only have it for less than three months...although I expect it will remain functional.

    Great laptop after few fix

    Posted .

Hi This laptop is great but need few things to be changed. Internet connection: this model is alredy equiped with intel dual band AC card so there is no issue with WI-FI known from older machines. Screen flickering and brightness. This need few setting changes described widely on lenovo support forum. Yellow collor issue: New Bios update + power management system update required. Still isnt perfect yellow but is acceptable. Battery isnt grate. After those changes seems to work grate.
