• The blinking light is the hard disk activity light. Either you have very good ears, or make sure your data is backed up. You should always have data backup.

• The noise you describe could be either the internal fan and/or the mechanical hard drive spinning. The blinking light is an indicator that the mechanical hard drive is searching for content.

• The white light indicates that the hard disk is accessing data. If the vibration is severe I would be concerned that something is out of balance. I have not observed this phenomenon in my machine.
