No it doesn't have a SSD. Yes it's easy to add one. I did that by cloning the HDD onto an SSD and all is good.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I realize it's a bit late, but I think it's important to note the 7200rpm HDD on this thing is as fast as many decent SSD drives. I definitely wouldn't see that spec and automatically jump to conclusions. If you think about it, look at how much they put into making this a fast machine with the nice CPU and nice amount of quality RAM. Don't think someone had a lapse in judgement, the HDD in this thing is very nice. Side note, it comes with 12GB RAM yet is only upgradeable to 16 per it's manual... That does suck, but once again 12 ddr4 is great, add 4 more to Max it out.
