That is correct. You can also print using a wired connection from the Ethernet port as long as the printer and computer are on the same network. In my setup for example, I have a wired connection from the computer to the router, and I connected the printer to the same router using its WIFI. You can go the other way too if your printer supports it, connecting the printer to the router by wire. You can use any combination, from both being wired (if your printer supports that), to them both using WIFI, or anything between. Personally, I like to connect stationary devices by wire if I can. I do this because I figure that if it isn't going anywhere, wiring it up prevents another WIFI signal. I'm in an apartment, so there are a lot of WIFI routers and devices around me. That's just my $0.02 though.
