The slow wifi issue isn't your modem or router, there's something about how they designed wifi into this thing that is causing it. If you want to stick with this device, and not look at over competitor products, if you attach a different USB wifi adapter, I can confirm that it works just fine. Make sure you disable the internal wifi adapter once you get the new one plugged in so you know which one your connection is going out on and not wasting cycles on the internal one.

Any router would really only slow down speeds if there are too many devices connected and eating bandwidth. Other than that, your question doesn't make sense and I don't have time to give you a crash course on networking. Please learn a little about basic networking if you are going to use wireless devices. People should at least have a basic understanding of how things they use function.
