Yes, you can switch out of S-mode, that is one of the first things I did. It does warn you, though, that you cannot switch back into S-mode (though I have no idea why you would want to
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17 Laptop, model number 81W2004AUS, ships with Windows 10 S-Mode 64-bit Operating System. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just got mine delivered yesterday and it's Windows 10S and it's coming off immediately. You can easily remove the security feature, but it's permanent. I understand the reason for S mode, but you won't be able to install ANY software unless it comes from the Microsoft Store, not even the CyberLink Media Suite 10 DVD software that came with the external DVD player I bought right here on Best Buy - this laptop doesn't have a DVD drive. If you want to install your own anti-virus software, you'll need to remove S mode. You can download whatever you want, but when to go to install it and unless it came from the MS Store, you'll get an S mode warning asking if you want to remove S mode. To do so, you'll need to log into your Microsoft account to do it. If you don't have an account, create one. It's free.
