  • QuestionBought this laptop today and does it come with antivirus software protection?

    Asked by Ccr.

    • Answer There is a 30-day trial of McAfee virus protection software installed. You will need to purchase a subscription to keep the software active after the 30-day trial. You don't need to use this if you would rather use a different 3rd party virus protection software. Just uninstall McAfee before you install another virus protection software. Windows 10 ships with Windows Defender virus protection software that is free to use. If you choosing to use this virus protection, you still must uninstall McAfee before you turn on Windows Defender. • QuestionWHY DOES COMPUTER START UP SLOW?

    Asked by Nehemiah57.

    • Answer This system should boot up from off, to the Windows 10 desktop in less than 40 seconds. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

    • Answer That really will depend on the requirements of the specific game you play and the software you use. We recommend you check with the game's software publisher's web site and the other software you will be installing on your new computer, for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration.

  • QuestionI have high-speed internet (400mps). Will this handle it?

    Asked by Toni.

    • Answer This model ships with the latest 5G 802.11AC frequency WiFi. 1.3 gigabits per second (Gbps) is the speed most commonly cited as the 802.11ac standard. This translates to 166 megabytes per second (MBps) or 1331 megabits per second (Mbps). It is vastly quicker than the 450Mbit per second (0.45Gbps) headline speeds quoted on the highest performing 802.11n routers.
