  • QuestionWhat generation processor does this have?

    • Answer Gen 6 and has DDR4 memory. For upgrades (not needed but fyi) Gen 7's of the same class will work & memory up to 32GB possible. SATA SSD's are an easy upgrade too. I do not work for Lenovo or Best Buy but have several of the M700's and older M73's. Love 'em.

  • QuestionCan this computer handle music production?

    • Answer By default, no not really. The lack of Bluetooth is going to limit you here. The amount of ram will cripple your audio editing software. And the only audio is a headphone jack, and the beep-boops that come from inside the computer. To do music with this, at minimum, I would 1. Upgrade ram 32gb 2. Add internal or external Wi-Fi and Bluetooth interfaces. 3. Get an audio card and install it (not required but you really should if you’re using Ableton or similar software). 4. If you can, run Ubuntu or Mint Linux- both are great on slower machines that windows bogs down on. 5. Replace the wired keyboard and mouse to get wires out of your workspace.

    • Answer hi, it does not have a sd card reader, BUT usb flash card readers/writers & hubs are inexpensive AND many are usb 3.0 or newer which would be double the speed of any internal sd reader, plus many can connect to a phone or camera as well, the lenovo has type A usb ports--phones/cameras have type C or mini A (android older) some devices have both or adapters are available cheap. The same answer applies to wifi--newer usb adapters are much faster than original. I do not work for Lenovo or Best Buy but have several of these M700's & M93's, they are very durable!

    • Answer The one I got did not come with an internal M wifi card, the one you get might or not, BUT usb adapters/dongles are faster, more range, & can have the newer frequencies/security/bluetooth compared to the original internal card & they have a range of prices. This M700 has both usb 3.0 & 2.0 and does have rj45-ethernet port. I do not work for Lenovo or Best Buy but have several of the M700's & M93's. Love them.
