I wondered the same thing. But when I got mine I was shocked to find that it was brand new with out a single scratch on it. I have no idea what they saw was wrong with mine but as far as I could tell it had never even been turned on or taken out of the box. I wouldn't worry to much about this being satisfactory at all.
