Really slow laptop, I wouldn’t recommend. I knew it was going to be slow pre purchase just not this awful. I bought it primarily to leave in my project car, used mainly for datalogging and uploading tunes. Only downloaded two programs on it. CPU is normally running at 90% just off the two program. And disk is always maxed out. Once I sign in everything takes a while to load. Going on 2 years of ownership, don’t waste your money spend a little more. The photo shows the program I installed running and me attempting to open google at the same time

Ordered a laptop from Best Buy website the description I paid for was open box excellent. Which was to have NO scuffs marks damage. Man this laptop has very clear visible marks scuffs and a marked on sharpie initials that is faded but upon wiping it off with alcohol you can actually see the sharpie markings. Back to store it goes 1st thing in the am.

Hello, we are sorry to hear you are having this experience with the Lenovo S145 laptop model # 81N3009BUS.This is an entry level, light use system with its AMD A6-9220e processor, with a base speed of 1.6GHz and a boost speed of up to 2.4GHz, 4GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available (and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you do not need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Here is a link to instructions for switching from Windows 10 S-Mode to Windows 10 Home: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4456067/windows-10-switch-out-of-s-mode . If you have switched out of S-Mode Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC” Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on-screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686

I love and swear by my chromebook and it got me through the last semester of high school and 5 semesters of college before I encountered a class that required a specific software that we needed to bring to class. Given that I am in college and already had a laptop I was looking for a good deal. For what I use it for, this laptop is more than worth it. It's not lighting fast, the battery life isn't amazing (I think it's comparable to other windows laptops but I'm used to the 10 hours I get from my chromebook), and the screen is far from amazing. But I'm am totally fine with all of that for the price I paid. I don't need great speed, the charger is small and light so It's no problem to keep it with me and charge in between classes.
This is going to be oddly specific but the screen (while not amazing indoors) is one of the best I've seen outdoors. Even in direct sunlight, if it's a white screen with black texts and/or colorful pictures it is VERY easy to see and read. I don't know if this is because of the matte screen or what but honestly it almost looks like e-ink it's so clear.
If you know what you're looking for and it's not much and you don't want to spend much give this one a try.

I purchased this laptop when I was forced to work from home because of COVID. All I had at home was a dinky bare basics Chromebook so picked this laptop up because it I liked the size and had the 10key pad, decent sized hard drive, and didn't break the bank.
It can stall and take time to respond, and sometimes disconnects from internet randomly. I've used it at two different locations on different wifi networks and encountered this issue. Not a huge problem, just a small annoyance on occasion when I am trying to work. For the price point, this laptop is not bad. If you need seamless speediness on your laptop, opt to pay more for a faster laptop.
Clean and sleek looking. Doesn't feel cheap. Light weight but still feels sturdy.
MY HUGEST ISSUE with this laptop is the battery life. Won't last very long on a full charge. 3 hours maybe and you're getting notified the battery is low.

Great Basic/Mid Level Computer

For under $300 this is a great computer. This computer replaced my lost chromebook and works just as good (if not better). It handles simultaneous use of excel, word doc, adobe pdf, and web surfing/ shopping (always have at least 12 windows open at a time) and I've only experienced minimal lag 2 or 3 times.
Good Things:
- Doesn't feel or look cheap
- Layout of the keyboard is nice and has numerical pad
- Plug isn't heavy and comes as ONE uninterrupted PIECE (not 2 stupid pieces)
- Has 3 USB ports and HDMI for connectivity
- Bluetooth for wireless display to tv and speakers/sound system
- Enough space to use my micro/travel mouse in the keyboard area (don't need a laptop tray)
- Turns on fairly quickly from rest mode
- Completed self-setup to my budget all-in-one printer! (I only needed to follow a few prompts confirming wifi name, printer name, etc).
Drawbacks:
- Basic computer look, extremely plain with no frills at all
- Screen is not vivid but if you don't mind playing with settings (I do mind) the screen is slightly above average compared to other budget computers
- Compact keys which can be a bit uncomfortable for people with larger fingers/hands
- No touchscreen!
Don't knows:
- Sound - I use bluetooth earbuds or speakers so can't really rate the sound
- Never watch movies or shows on my laptop since I have a TV and read or listen to music when traveling
- Battery life - haven't used it beyond 5 straight hours but its was still at about 40%
If you're looking for high processing speeds buy a $2,000+ computer. If you're looking for an inexpensive gaming computer get an xbox or playstation. If you're looking for sharp/crisp visuals and sound for shows/movie get a 4K HDTV and theater system. If you're looking for a basic budget computer for moderate office work, answering emails, and moderate to heavy web surfing/shopping, this is a great buy. It's not the best buy but I'm happy with my purchase.

An inexpensive laptop. It's great for simple things like surfing the web and I like that it has plenty of storage space. It's not very fast though - if you want something that will boot up quickly and respond very quickly, then you need a more expensive computer. I got this because I wanted something inexpensive that was just for simple use though (like the web and zoom calls), so it meets my needs.

For the price, under 300 bucks, this is a great machine. The AMD A6-9225 cpu is fast. The AMD R4 integrated graphics are solid. The 1366x768 display is nice enough, although a bit colder in color tone than what I prefer. WiFi reception is top notch. 1 terabyte hard drive is plenty. The keyboard and touchpad work well. Battery life seems around 3 hours.
I might recommend upgrading the RAM to an 8 gig stick. Doubling the RAM (replacing the 4gb stick with 8gb stick, there is only one slot in this model) lets this laptop handle quite a bit more, especially if you want to try some light gaming now and then.
I am happy with this and would definitely recommend it for most peoples needs.

I'm not the type of person to give bad reviews unless it's really warranted. I bought this laptop about 5 or 6 weeks ago to "upgrade" from my previous laptop, which was an ASUS E203MA 11.6" laptop with an Intel celeron processor and solid state drive, just for reference. I am a student and use my laptops primarily for school-related work, no gaming or anything like that.
My ASUS starting repeatedly getting the blue screen of death after about a year, due to some hardware issue. Before this, it was a surprisingly fast bugger for such a small laptop and could handle lots of different windows being open simultaneously.
I figured Lenovo is a good brand, its processor is an AMD A6-9225 RADEON R4, which is faster than the Intel in my ASUS, and also partially why I purchased it.
Ya'll, I'm telling you, I am a bit disappointed. I was really expecting something better for my investment, especially since this processor is supposed to be faster. But it turns out it is more laggy than I care to admit, not to such a degree that it's unusable but it is definitely noticeable especially if you leave your laptop on sleep for a couple days or more.
For example, during a recent Microsoft Teams video-conference for a lecture, the lag was crazy despite having closed all other windows/programs. Even trying to open a word document while the conference was running, or even to share my screen with others so they could see what I was doing, took minutes (yes, minutes) to accomplish.
The Lenovo has a 1TB hard disk drive, which still has probably 90% of the memory unused (again, I don't use this laptop for anything crazy or tons of apps, just school stuff).
I'm not a techie, but all I can say is the performance of this laptop feels unreasonably lower when compared to a smaller laptop with a "slower" processor.
There are good things about it too, aside from the lag it functions just fine but jeez, for the money I paid I was hoping for something that could handle having a few windows open at a time.

Very nice laptop for the price. I bought this for the wife. She is not exactly what I would call tech savvy but for what she uses it for it is just fine. She loves to collect pictures and a few videos of the grandchildren so the 1Tb comes in handy for her. Between that and all of the portable memory you can get today at reasonable prices she is good to go.....The only thing that she would like to have is a DVD recorder/player but that's her. The only thing that remains to be seen is durability. We have only had it for a couple of months so I hope durability is one of its strengths.

I bought this machine because I had my laptop and desktop stolen. Although it does the job for an entry-level laptop I think I need to get more than 4g of RAM, it is kind of slow. Back to the price, it is well worth buying for a machine under $300. You can't go wrong with the HD size and the laptop actually works well for WWW surfing, emails, and general document preparation. I always buy the best buy protection plans on all my devices, saved me hundreds of dollars in repairs to multiple devices I own.
