It's a 1tb Western Digital 5400rpm hard drive with a SanDisk 16gb m2 ssd for a hybrid boot/boost drive. The ssd is inaccessible as it sits by default.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe it means the 1 Tb 5400 rpm HDD has a 16Gb SSD cache to help speed things up a bit. I love this machine for other reasons but, to me, the HDD was terrible, so I put in a Samsung 850 512 Gb SSD I had on hand and now it's great. SSDs are coming down in price and you should be able to find an affordable 256 or 512 drive. Changing it out was easy (check Google or You Tube) except if you have a Samsung SSD their drive cloning software doesn't work w/Win 10 so you can d/l a free program like Macrium Reflect or EaseUS.
