Very happy with this little machine. I was looking for a laptop for school classes and after a lot of research this was the one. Although, I do not have much intention for using the tablet / folding feature it does work very well especially the keyboard surround that raises when the screen is folded to make the keys flush when holding it in tablet mode. I specifically wanted a machine without an optical drive to keep it thin and light. For its size I believe it has a great combination of portability and power. Having a dedicated video card compared to the Intel Integrated graphics so many ultrabooks have is a huge performance advantage. It is not the fastest machine out there but its strong mid level internals are more than adequate for anything I have used it for, from word processing, light gaming, to Autocad work. Also, having a full size HDMI out (some ultrabooks I looked at had a mini HDMI) negates the need for carrying an extra dongle around. Some reviews gave it average marks on battery life but I have been getting from 6 to 7.5 hours so far with basic use at school and that is fine by me for a machine with a dedicated graphics card and this small. I have noticed many manufacturers opt for a cheaper lower capacity battery and it was good to see Lenovo put a pretty decent capacity battery in the Yoga S3 14". Overall, I am extremely content with this machine. It does everything I ask it to, is easy to carry around, and lasts plenty long for its capability. I prefer the overall design of the Thinkpad to the regular Lenovo but wish it had a fingerprint scanner like many other Thinkpads. I am not sure about the regular Lenovo's but this Thinkpad was loaded very minimally with bloatware from the factory which was nice to see. The main reason I knocked off a star was the lack of an SSD, that was the only thing from making this a truly complete mobile powerhouse. Not that its bad with a traditional HD but its just not as snappy as you would hope from a brand new machine. I swapped out the HD for a 240GB SSD and its perfect. Boots so fast, no lag at all, very impressive for under a grand. I will note that it still booted quite fast with the original traditional HD installed.

Great tablet/laptop. Love how I have both options. This computer is super fast, with lots of storage. Using for engineering school and it's handled all the special software like a champ. Only complaint is if I choose tablet mode I'm having a hardtime typing, an auto pop key board isn't displaying, but that could be user error

This ThinkPad is amazing. I recently was in the market for a device that was comfortable to type on but super durable. The guys at Best Buy... HOOKED... ME.... Up this thing is a beast. Great durability great processing speed and the keys mold to my fingers as I begin typing chapters of my novel in the works. My only con to this device is that the keys aren't Backlit but hey you shouldn't type in the dark anyways. A cool feature of this device is that when you put it into tablet mode by flipping the board back, the keys retract into laptop.

I wanted to upgrade from an older Windows machine and reviewed at least 10 various models - from HP to the Apple line of Mac's. My needs were 500GB HD preferred, as much ram as possible, touch screen and flash drive to speed up performance; bonus is the multi-USB 2.0 and single USB 3.0 port as well as the tablet conversion mode. Overall I feel like I got a value above the performance of a Mac for approx $500 less in a combo hard/flash drive 500MB beyond my req and with more RAM. Had the machine about 2 months and only have good things to say about it. Good work Lenovo (please don't make me regret this review in 6 months)

I've had this laptop for about 2 months now and I really like it! I grew up with a Windows computer but during my college years I switched over to Mac. I am sooo happy to have moved back to Windows- the possibilities are endless! I like the thin and smooth physical aesthetic of the laptop and really like that it can also be used as a touchscreen. I might have been my internet connection but when browsing the Windows store for games, touchscreen scrolling was a stop-and-go process. Other than that, I really like this laptop!

Computer has great picture, audio, and can easily process my graphics programs with multiple programs open. Love the 2:1 feature too and touch screen. However, sometimes start up is slow and sometimes the computer's network driver stops working (can't find any internet, won't allow me to connect or disconnect). Easily fixed with a quick restart.

I purchased this laptop after extensive research for my needs and found that this one was perfect for the overall compact size, power, speed, and tablet capabilities. The sales lady was great at explaining the differences in what I should look for based on what I planned to do with it and she also helped us to use some of our gift cards to get it at a great price. Lenovo is a great brand and worth the cost in my opinion. I would recommend this model for the typical everyday use of internet searching, office docs, photo editing, and general use. I would recommend that for gaming or other advanced videos to upgrade to the faster processors. Still a good brand and worth the money.

I got this on black Friday open box so it was 710 or 740 plus down from 1000. And I got 40% off that bringing it down to 410ish 440ish with tax... now when I got it home I was surprised to find out it had a 2g video card which made it a real dream of a deal cause I was getting everything I wanted in a new laptop only down side was it wasn't 6th Gen or n i7 but for what I will use it for I don't think that really matters esp at the price i paid for it ... now I had a problem with the touch screen it had that ghosting problem where it seemed to keep clicking the screen on the bottom right hand side so I took it back to best buy and they sent it out for repair as I want that laptop n not to pick out another for the price I paid cause I would never get everything I have in this one for the price so I'm sure I'll be getting a new screen put in so they told me I'm not sure I will find out soon I just hope it's repairable or else I'm sh** out of luck and will just have to get my money back and wait another year or so till I can find the same type of computer for a cheaper price

Great laptop for business trips since it's not too heavy and the size is perfect. Please note you will have to purchase ethernet and VGA adapters separately since the only input is for USB.

Everything about this laptop seems great. Long battery life. Slim and super fast for me. The buttons ABOVE the touch pad take some getting used to and are probably better that way once you change your habit of looking for them at the bottom. I know Best Buy employees are trained to upsell and I think I could have bought one for half this and been happy. But, my wife buys laptops for a corporation os 20,000 and the whole sales force uses Lenova, so I went with it and am glad I did.

Love the keyboard, very responsive and tactile. Would have preferred an I7 but the I5 is performing better than I expected. I also like the fact that there is very little bloat ware installed. Great value.

Purchased this laptop for work and I like it so far. It seems durable and works like it should. I like the touchscreen and it does not seem like a junky design. Too many electronics look and feel cheap. This is not one of those pieces.

It came with Windows 8.1 I upgraded it to 10. Had to bring it back to BestBuy 4 times as it stopped running. The last time nothing but repairing repairing repairing. This required me to get the RECOVERY Disk from Lenovo which I gave to the GeekSquad. I asked them to Please Leave it at 8.1. Do not Upgrade it to 10. And they did. And for a month now it has been running fine with Windows 8.1. I had no luck with Windows 10 and will NOT UPGRADE.

I replaced my surface pro 3 that broke with this Lenova. It is a bit heavier but so much better to use as a laptop! Only down fall is my left hand keeps hitting the Caps Lock instead of Shift button.

Coming from a performance-based custom desktop, it is hard for a laptop to compare to the standards i am used to on the computing front. However, this laptop seems to be about as good as you can get for around $1000. I use this laptop daily, and love it. The keyboard in particular is quite nice for typing any sort of document, and the 1080p screen makes everything a joy to look at. I love this laptop.

Will start off by saying I purchased a different model from a different manufacturer to save money originally and it lasted 7 days before I returned it for this one. This think pad is super fast, easy to use, and had everything I was looking for. To make it even better I got a geek squad certified one and save a significant amount of money. Would highly recommend.
