• there is no drive built in, but there are 3 USB ports which may be used to connect an external drive

• There is no built in DVD drive, and there is no included external DVD drive. You will have to buy your own.

• There is a lower end model that has the DVD-RW but this model I purchased does NOT. It has the ability to of course use external DVD.

• I am not sure why its listed with an optical drive (CD / DVD / etc), I noticed that too, but it does NOT have one.
