Absolutely. I'm using it for undergrad now and it's awesome. Light weight and portable for carrying to class and typing notes in class. It starts up quickly, battery lasts for a long time and the tablet feature is unbeatable for viewing slides in class.

That would depend on your curriculum. If you are in engineering or CGI, you may need a more powerful system. If the bulk of the work you will be doing at school will be Microsoft Office type projects, this device will be very good.
