I did go to a Best Buy store to exchange for a unit that does not have this misalignment problem. Turns out the floor model had the problem and the salespeople had not noticed. Then - reluctantly - they opened a 3 more boxes and they all had some misalignment. I took the one that had the least misalignment. Recommend checking this issue before you leave the store. It is apparently a build quality/quality assurance failure by Lenovo. This does not affect functionality, but when you buy a new computer in this price range you expect the cover to line up properly when closed. I decided to stick with this model and hope the small misalignment doesn't drive me crazy for years!
