- Answer Open-box refers to an item that Best Buy carries that a customer has returned to the store and Best Buy (Geek Squad, in some instances) refurbishes the product and then re-sells in store (most times, a customer returns an item because it isn't the right color or the right fit for their needs). New refers to an item that Best Buy carries that has come directly from the manufacturer to Best Buy via their warehouse. Hope this answers your question.

- Answer The SSD comes with some software already installed and the formatted size is never what the full capacity is listed as. This is true with all devices running an OS.
