It is a safety feature designed to lock the control panel before cleaning the oven, or to prevent children from unsupervised use of the oven, but it can be set to On, or you can cancel it by pressing and holding STOP/Clear for approximately 3 seconds until 'Loc' disappears in the display. If the oven is locked, 'Loc' appears in the display appears in the display when any key is pressed, and you will have to unlock the oven to resume normal use...^Ivan.
