Q: QuestionHow close to the rear wall can this refrigerator be placed ? I.e., my counter depth is 24 1/4" and I would like to see it aligned as closely as possible to the cabinetry.
Asked by NewFridge1.
- A:Answer LG specifies 2" clearance and 25 3/8" depth for a total of 27 3/8" from back wall or 3 1/8" past your counter. That is the thickness of the door. Properly installed the body of the fridge will be even with the counter, and the door will extend into the room. I just ordered one. I think it makes sense to leave the open edge even with the counter and extending door into the room so there is no counter corner "bumps" in the way of loading unloading items from the unit.

Q: QuestionWill this refrigerator match any stainless appliance?
Asked by Debby.
- A:Answer There are different types of Stainless Steel used for Appliances and while the Stainless Steel finish on the LG Refrigerators are guaranteed to match other LG appliances since we use the same Stainless Steel, there are no guarantees that the Stainless Steel used by other manufacturers is the same let alone be an exact match. Most Stainless Steel finishes are close enough that they match well, but there are no guarantees. The Large Capacity 2 Door Bottom-Mount Refrigerator, Model # LBN10551PS is not a Stainless Steel finish, it is a Platinum Silver which although has that mirror-like silvery sheen to it like a Stainless Steel, is not exactly the same. It has a different grain and the finish is not as shiny as Stainless Steel. Platinum Silver will also attract magnets unlike Stainless Steel...^IFV

Q: Questionwhat number do you put the refrigerator for coldest? I need help already lost eggs and lunchmeat
Asked by 4sammy66.
- A:Answer There is a global divide on the question of whether eggs should be stored in refrigerator or kept at room temperature and in the U.S. the tendency is to store them in the refrigerator to increase shelf life and to prevent the spread of salmonella. Studies done to compare eggs stored at room temperatures between 68°F and 77°F and those that were refrigerated at about 43°F revealed that both batches of eggs were equally bacteria-free for a span of two weeks. The default temperature for the refrigerator compartment in the LG 10 cu. ft. Large Capacity 2-Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator, Model # LBN10551PS is 37°F. The refrigerator section can be set from 32°F (0°C) to 43°F (6°C). The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) advises that a refrigerator set at 40 °F or below will protect most foods. It is also recommended that eggs should be kept in the carton in which you purchase them, as it is designed specifically for this purpose. The carton helps the eggs from picking up odors and flavors from other foods and prevents moisture loss and they should be used within three to five weeks...^IFV
