- Answer Thank you for reaching us regarding LG Microwave. The LG MVEL2137D over-the-range microwave has removable filters. There are two types: 1. Grease Filters: Found underneath the microwave, these catch grease and particles while cooking. Clean them at least once a month for best performance. 2. Charcoal Filter: This filter helps eliminate odors and is needed if the microwave recirculates air. It cannot be cleaned and should be replaced every 6 to 12 months, depending on how often you use the microwave. QuestionWhat is the space on the wall required for the mounting bracket? What distance is required at the wall from the bottom of shelf (above unit) to the bottom of the mounting bracket? I can see there is a different height at back than at the front.

- Answer There is an interior light. Which is adequate. The problem is on the front of the microwave. The instrument panel is not back lit so unless you have a well lit kitchen area, you have to have a flashlight to see the numbers.

Smart Over-the-Range Microwave with ExtendaVent®2.0 & EasyClean®, Model # MVEL2137F has one charcoal filter and if it is vented inside, the charcoal filter should be replaced every 6 to 12 months, and more often if necessary. The charcoal filter cannot be cleaned. To order a new charcoal filter, contact an LG Customer Information Center or visit the lg.com website. The Cooktop Light is an incandescent appliance bulb. It is not an LED bulb, but it can be replaced with an equivalent LED bulb...^Ivan

- Answer My unit was already set up to exhaust the air via a vent that we had installed. But I don’t believe that there would be a problem with THE, INSTALLERS changing the direction. FYI the front panel is not back lit, which makes it very difficult to see the numbers when you’re operating the microwave

- Answer Our installation guide for this 2.1 cu. ft. Smart Over-the-Range Microwave with ExtendaVent® 2.0, Model # MVEL2125F do not specify a maximum cabinet depth of 13". The microwave oven has a depth of 15 7/8 inches (without handle), and a depth of 17 5/8 inches (Includes handle), so if your cabinet has a depth of 13 1/2 inches it will not obstruct the door from opening at all....^Ivan
