Q: QuestionDo you have a LG combo washer/dryer model that is vented?We live in an apartment that has washer and dryer hook-ups for a stackable washer/dryer but I am considering purchasing a combo (all in one) unit. I wonder if I should purchase a vented model since there will be a vent for it.

• A:Answer Hi sis1of5. Thank you for your inquiry. The LG - 2.3 Cu. Ft. 9-Cycle Washer and 7-Cycle Dryer Electric Combo - White, Model # WM3477HW is ideal for people with space considerations and have no way to vent their units to the outside. All the LG Washer/Dryer Combos are Ventless, but if you have the space to stack the units and you already have the necessary connections in place, then by all means, look into getting the stand alone washer with the matching dryer. You will get more options and features on a stand alone dryer than you get on a combo and you can get larger cubic foot capacities, if your space allows, which allows you to do more laundry...^IFV

Q: QuestionCan I wash and dry a queen size blanket?Can I wash a queen-size blanket, medium thickness? Maybe a spread? Just one item at a time.

• A:Answer The LG - 2.3 Cu. Ft. 9-Cycle Washer and 7-Cycle Dryer Electric Combo in White, Model # WM3477HW is too small for a queen size blanket of medium thickness. You could fit it into a 3.3 cubic foot capacity washer but even though it would fit, it would not clean very well because there isn't enough room for the blanket to tumble. You would be better off with a 4.3 cubic foot capacity washer...^IFV

Q: QuestionDoes this unit use 110 volt electricity like the other LG 2.3 cu unit?Want to know electrical requirements & also if specific 3 or 4 dryer prong is necessary or can a typical grounded plug be used for the dryer.

• A:Answer A regular 110 electrical outlet for the unit. No dryer cord is needed, the cord that comes on the unit works the machine which washes and drys the clothes!

Q: QuestionHow much clearance needed in back?The depth in my space is only 26 inches. Will this machine fit? Is any space needed in back of the machine?

Large Capacity 24” Compact All-In-One Washer/Dryer Combo, Model # WM3477HW to ensure sufficient clearance for water lines and airflow, allow minimum clearances of at least 1 in. (2.5 cm) at the sides and 4 in. (10 cm) behind the unit. Be sure to allow for wall, door, or floor moldings that may increase the required clearances. You should also allow at least 19.8 in. (50.3 cm) in front of the washer to open the door. The unit has a depth of 25 1/4” so if you add the required clearance space for the back, that would be 29 1/4"...^IFV

Q: QuestionWe have animals 2 of which are cats will this affect this type of machine?I think about what I remove from my lint trap now, how will that differ with this unit? Will it produce more in lint trap? Worried that the cat fur may clog. Thank You For Your Help

• A:Answer Thank you for your inquiry. The LG - 2.3 Cu. Ft. 9-Cycle Washer and 7-Cycle Dryer Electric Combo, Model # WM3477HW does not have lint traps and any lint or foreign bodies will get drained out through the drain pump. You are already familiar with how much cat fur you have to deal with and it is not the machine that makes the lint, what is caught in the drain pump will be about the same as what you already get in your current machine so knowing that makes it more imperative that you check the drain pump that much more frequently to ensure that the cat fur does not clog the machine. You would probably need to check the drain pump after every wash that has cat fur on it to make sure that it hasn't gotten caught up in the drain pump...^IFV

• A:Answer Hello Carolh. The amount of clothes that a washing machine of dryer can hold is always provided in cubic feet and the LG - 2.3 Cu. Ft. 9-Cycle Washer and 7-Cycle Dryer Electric Combo - Model # WM3477HW will hold about 8 Kg of clothing weight-wise (i.e. 17.6 lbs) if that helps. The general rule of thumb is that you should load the drum about 3/4 full which guarantees that you have left enough room for the load to tumble freely so you can get a clean wash. You should not have to stuff the clothes in...IFV

Q: QuestionWill plumbing and drain work where a dishwasher is currently?I have an old dishwasher that isnt being used. I know this unit will fit in the location but I'm wondering what I will need for the water and draining. Will the set up for the dishwasher be similar?

• A:Answer The drain hose on the LG - 2.3 Cu. Ft. 9-Cycle Washer and 7-Cycle Dryer Electric Combo - White, Model # WM3477HW has an inner diameter of 4 inches whereas the standard dishwasher drain hose has an inner diameter of 5/8". In other words the volume of water draining from the washing machine will be much more than that from the dishwasher. You really will want to consult a qualified plumber to avoid drainage problems of water backing up through your kitchen. Some buildings require that dishwashers be installed with an air gap to prevent that from happening. Getting water to the washing machine will not be an issue as long as the water pressure is as recommended in the owner's manual and you can always get adapters for connecting to the faucets if they are not the same size. You definitely should have a plumber look at your situation to determine if you can use the same drain of if something else needs to be done to accommodate drainage. You could also just drain into the sink...^IFV

Q: QuestionCan this machine be used with just 1 water source? Cold water onlyCan this machine be used with just 1 water source? I have a small cabinet in the bathroom with a drain and a cold water faucet (not an actual laundry hook up / laundry line) I have a 1.7 cu ft portable washer that is a little over a year old that just stopped working and I am looking for a reliable/heavy duty washer. I am just not sure if a cold water faucet will be enough to for this machine.

• A:Answer If you only have a cold water supply, you cannot leave the hot water inlet valve open on the LG 2.3 cu. ft. Large Capacity 24” Compact All-In-One Washer/Dryer Combo, Model # WM3477HW. You will need to get a "Y" cable to split that singular cold water supply into 2 paths, one that will feed the cold water inelt and the other the hot water inlet...^IFV

You can try asking if there are any Portability Kits that are still being made for this type of washer that can be installed on the unit to make it portable.
