“Is the black finish smudge proof? Any problems with ice shooting past the cup all over the floor when dispensing like other fridges when button pushed? Does the water / ice work good and is cup area tall?”

The finish is not smudge proof. Easy to clean but you need to do it often. On occasion, the button will stick and you'll have to clean up water and ice. It seems to be the problem spot on most refrigerators. The ice and water area is big enough.
