A:AnswerWe regret to read that your LG LG - 24.7 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator with Thru-the-Door Ice and Water - Stainless/Stainless look Model # LFX25974ST is making a constant humming noise. While that constant humming noise is normal, your description of it being "deafening" is not and if the unit is still under the manufacturers' warranty, you would be well advised to contact the LG Customer Interactive Center at (800) 243-0000 and speak to a Call Representative who may assist you trouble shooting the unit and if it is determined that a service is necessary, they can set that up for you. If it is out of warranty, if it was through Best Buy, then contact the Geek Squad Services to set up a Service through that warranty...^IFV
A:AnswerI think the 1" is the minimum required. I would hesitate to put this with just 1/8" on the sides, although the side clearance might just be to help with installation, not really required for ventilation.
I would not remove drywall to get additional clearance - the most you are going to get is about 1/2". Drilling holes isn't going to help either - you need space for hot air to escape, so holes in the drywall aren't going to help.
The additional vertical clearance may compensate for the lack of rear clearance, but you would need to consult with someone more knowledgeable to be sure.
I would check with LG to see if the clearances are enough and more importantly if it will affect the warranty in any way. One reason for getting this fridge is it has a 10 year compressor warranty.
A:AnswerI've had no problem with ice machine yet. I read in the manual this is sometimes a problem when ice dispenser is set for crushed ice. Mine is set for cubes.
A:AnswerIt is recommended that you turn the Ice Maker off in the LG - 24.7 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator with Thru-the-Door Ice and Water in the Stainless/Stainless look, Model # LFX25974ST if you will not be using the Ice Maker for several days. Infrequent use of the dispenser will cause the ice cubes to stick together which is what may have happened if the ice maker was left on while you were on vacation. You may have clumping of the ice cubes which is preventing the refrigerator from dispensing the ice cubes. You can use a rubber spatula to break up the ice so that it dispenses properly. You will also want to check the chute to ensure that it is not blocked. This can also get blocked if you only dispense crushed ice for an extended period of time. Remove the ice bin and use the rubber spatula to clear the ice passage way of frost or ice. To prevent this from happening, you should dispense a glass of cubed ice a day...^IFV
A:AnswerI use antibacterial wipes on all my appliances. Gave up on fingerprint protection. Can't keep up with those. They makevstainless steel wipes but they are pricey and don't know if they actually "clean" or just pretty.
