“From looking at the manual, there doesn't seem to be a way to turn the light on above the water dispenser??? Why is this missing? The french door model of this same fridge let you have this light on on all the time.”

Hi Jackie2. Regrettably, the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 26.1 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side InstaView Door-in-Door Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Refrigerator - Stainless steel, Model # LSXS26396S is not designed with a light on the Ice/Water Dispenser. That is a feature found on select higher-tiered models...^IFV
