QuestionI see the unit that is the same as this with craft ice is discontinued. Why is that? Was there an issue getting parts for craft ice makers?

A manufacturer will discontinue a product for many reasons, including the fact that the materials used for manufacturing the product are no longer available or that less expensive materials have become available to manufacture a new product. Energy efficiency standards become more stringent each year, and newer products must meet these standards. The decision to discontinue a product is made at the corporate level, and regrettably, we are not privy to those decisions. ^ Chris

- Answer Hi there, JB! Nice question. Both doors of this 28 cu. ft. Smart wi-fi Enabled InstaView™ Door-in-Door® Refrigerator (LMXS28596S) when opened less than 90 degrees, they will automatically close to avoid the door alarm to go off. You need to open the doors more than 90 degrees for them to stay open, since the fridge is a bit slanted to the back. ^Jolly

QuestionI know the stated capacity is 27.8 Cu Ft of space. Can you tell me the actual usable space for the refrigerator and the freezer. I am also confused by the non-adjustable shelves. Are they really set so the space between the shelves can't be changed.

- Answer By non-adjustable, they mean the shelf type. They are a static depth. This unit includes 3 solid shelves and one that the front half slides back. Each shelf can be placed at 3 different heights. Do note, they can NOT be swapped left/right. Meaning the sliding shelf must remain on the right side. There are 2 left shelves and 2 right shelves and they are different. The wording they used is terrible.

- Answer Both bottom drawers are freezers. You can still put your drinks in that drawer they will be icy.
