I hooked mine with an HDMI to USB-C for Windows. I think it'd be safe to say it'd work with your MacBook no problem.

You either need a converter cable or an adapter to connect to the HDMI ports from a USB-C port. Pairing a Bluetooth speaker to your Apple TV has nothing to do with connecting the Apple TV to the monitor. It does not affect the monitor...^IFV
