- Answer It doesn’t need to be drained after every wash. That is to drain the water before cleaning the drain pump filter. I usually do this every other tub clean cycle.

- Answer Absolutely yes. Though your subfloor/diy pedestal will need to be quite strong and sturdy. This stacked unit is quite heavy.

- Answer Extremely easy. You would love that aspect of this unit! The controls for both the washer and dryer are together, halfway up from the bottom. They are located at a height of 39" and the control panel is 4" high. This means the entire control strip for both washer and dryer is located between 39" and 43". This is nothing like what you get with a stacking kit with the dryer on top, which is one of the reasons I like this unit. There's also control from the LGThinQ app, so some things you can do from your phone if you wish.

QuestionWe are concerned about bending and reaching into the washing machine. Please advise what the height of the washing machine door? What is the distance from the bottom of the washing machine door to the floor. Can you place this unit on a pedestal?

- Answer I measure about 10 inches from the bottom of the door to the floor. About 14 inches from the bottom of the opening to the floor. It is a long reach to the back of the drum which is at an angle. A tool to grab small things left after removing large things might be helpful. A pedestal would be difficult. LG doesn't make one for this unit, so if you did find or make one it would be not engineered to be compatible like pedestals made by washer/dryer manufacturers. May have a vibration issue. And, it would make it quite tall.

- Answer Hello, it is better to have a new one and regarding the electric cable I will not recommend to use the one from your GE because there is a possibility that you will be having compatibility issues.^Venette

- Answer The dryer for this ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer WashTower™ with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - White, Model # WKE100HWA, has to be vented to the outside like a gas dryer. All types of clothes dryers, including electric ones, should be vented outside of the home. While an electric clothes dryer doesn't expel carbon monoxide like its gas counterpart, there are large amounts of moist air and lint coming out of your electric dryer, both of which can severely damage your home if they accumulate. This is a single unit that cannot be disassembled to use as a side-by-side unit, so it still requires a minimum 4" installation clearance spacing in the rear to ensure sufficient clearance for the water inlet hoses, the drain hose, and airflow around the unit. You should also consider additional clearance spacing for wall, door, or floor moldings that may increase the required clearances...^Ivan.

- Answer It has two power cords. Onebis the 220 for the dryer and the other is 110 for the washer. There are no gas fottingabas it is an electric sryer and not a gas dryer. And like most dryers, it requires a vent pipe. I was super surprised to find out that weater hoses and the power cable for the dryer was NOT included with this machine.

- Answer I would be very careful. Make sure the unit is installed by Best Buy and make sure to stipulate your issue with floor scratching and get it in writing. My contractor installed mine a few days ago. It violently shakes in the spin cycle and is INCREDIBLY loud. I believe my unit is defective and am working with LG to get a replacement. Good Luck
