Q: QuestionQuestion 1: I live in a condo where the dryer uses a water bucket kit for venting. Can I "recycle" this kit and hose for this wash tower or should I buy a new hose? Question 2: Can I reuse my GE dryer electric cable (3 prong) to connect this dryer?

Electric Dryer WashTower™ with Steam and Built-In Intelligence - White, Model # WKE100HWA, has to be vented to the outside like a gas dryer. All types of clothes dryers, including electric ones, should be vented outside of the home. While an electric clothes dryer doesn't expel carbon monoxide like its gas counterpart, there are large amounts of moist air and lint coming out of your electric dryer, both of which can severely damage your home if they accumulate. This is a single unit that cannot be disassembled to use as a side-by-side unit, so it still requires a minimum 4" installation clearance spacing in the rear to ensure sufficient clearance for the water inlet hoses, the drain hose, and airflow around the unit. You should also consider additional clearance spacing for wall, door, or floor moldings that may increase the required clearances...^Ivan.

• A:Answer It has two power cords. Onebis the 220 for the dryer and the other is 110 for the washer. There are no gas fottingabas it is an electric sryer and not a gas dryer. And like most dryers, it requires a vent pipe. I was super surprised to find out that weater hoses and the power cable for the dryer was NOT included with this machine.

• A:Answer I would be very careful. Make sure the unit is installed by Best Buy and make sure to stipulate your issue with floor scratching and get it in writing. My contractor installed mine a few days ago. It violently shakes in the spin cycle and is INCREDIBLY loud. I believe my unit is defective and am working with LG to get a replacement. Good Luck

• A:Answer I think you should be able to use a flex vent, the out vent for the dryer is centered a little over the midway point of the unit about 43-45 inches from the floor. And yes both the washer and dryer have the steam option.

• A:Answer Best Buy will include a power cord/plug with your LG Washtower purchase. For electric heat dryers, it's a 240 volt plug and the dryer is rated at 30 amps. The installation instructions allow for either a 3 prong or 4 prong plug, depending on the socket in your home. There's a second separate 120 volt cord/plug already attached to the washer.

Q: QuestionMy current washer/dryer combo is sitting on a drain pan that cracked when we just tried to move the unit. Does a drain pan come with this unit? If not, can you suggest an item number that would work with this unit.

• A:Answer I don't think drain pans generally come with washers or combo units, since the building codes for each jurisdiction varies, and drain pans aren't required everywhere. All that means is that, if you're going to have to replace the drain pan, you just need to get one that fits the dimensions of your appliance, as well as the diameter of the drain. Might want to get a professional to do so. But if you're also replacing the washer/dryer anyway, then the new drain pan (if you're definitely replacing it, or if you have to replace because your local building codes require them) just has to fit the size/dimensions of this tower and the pipe diameter of your residence. Hope that helps.
