While the unit's dryer is vented, a closet installation requires sufficient airflow to the washer and dryer to operate correctly. The owner's manual for this unit specifies that "louvered doors with equivalent ventilation openings are also acceptable" for this type of installation. - Answer A. Yes, you can safely pause the machine during mid cycle. Press the "Start/Pause" button on your washing machine and wait a few minutes for the washer to safely drain away water in the drum before it unlocks the door. Once this is done, you'll be able to open the door and make any changes to the cycle. To resume the cycle, press the “Start/Pause” button again. ~Tanisha

- Answer I have been told that GAS dryers cannot be vented out the left side, so I wonder if your current washer/dryer stackable is electric rather than gas. It is a good idea to check into that. (The right side is determined as you are facing the front of the unit,) Stores do allow for returns should the unit not fit or accommodate your space, but I'd want to avoid that hassle.

- Answer Steam is an option that you have to select. Steam is not a default when you select Normal wash. That said, a Normal wash defaults to WARM water unless you alter the water temperature setting under Cycle Modifiers.
