I have the same issue. I am trying to get LG to explain how to get my clothes clean. I am considering jus putting this machine on the curb.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I know that it looks funny but that is one of the ways a he saves water. If the towels are extremly large like large beach towels you can select deep wash next time to get more water in the tub. Also if you are on the normal cycle and want more water press and hold the add water button on the right for 3 seconds and this will take you out of normal and put you in deep wash but do it before the add garments light goes out. And if you are starting your wash with a full load of really large towels you may even try using the bedding cycle. But to answer your original question yes that shallow water level is normal and sill gets the cloths clean.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I put every load on deep wash plus the deep fill button. All these new machines SUCK. Not enough water to get clothes clean. Its like washing clothesbin a sprinkler. I also wash my salon towelas in it so need plenty of water to clean all the chemicals from towels. Old salon had front loader and clients always conplained the towels smelled.
