Working all the time for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most of the presets allow you to continue utilization of the upward firing speakers. However, if the content is not designed for it - you may not notice any dramatic difference.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. Unless you're playing something mastered with the top firing speakers, the speakers stay completely silent. DTS 5.1? No top speakers. 7.1? Again, no. I believe it's limited to Atmos, and then again, only if the audio is mastered to include the top speakers (which for Atmos, it usually is thankfully). Worth noting: the top speakers might work with DTS:X (the alternative to Atmos), but this soundbar doesn't decode DTS:X. So yeah, top speakers are limited to Atmos. Sorry to disappoint.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. With Dolby Atmos, the action can move anywhere in three-dimensional space, including above the listener for the ultimate in surround audio. (Dolby Atmos audio available on select titles.) This upgradeable sound bar has been designed to integrate with the SPK8-S optional wireless surround speakers (kit sold separately), adding the premium home theater audio of dedicated rear channels, with wireless convenience. ^CP
