A:AnswerRun the cable box and DVD player to the TV’s HDMI inputs, connect HDMI ARC on the TV to HDMI ARC on the sound bar and make sure HDMI CEC is turned on in TV options, and sound bar input is set to OPT/ARC. This will let the TV remote control everything seamlessly and you can put the soundbar remote in a drawer.
A:AnswerThe SK9 is the 2018 model, The SK10 is the 2019 model. The "C" at the end of the model number I believe is for the Costco unit which is otherwise identical. The SK10 is much wider than the SK9. It has some new features like Meridian sound that I wouldn't use, and is hard to find discounted. The SK9 is now selling for about half of what it cost last year.
A:AnswerAppreciate LG fast reply.
My question about ‘Pass Through’ was specifically for #SK9Y HDMI IN Port. Can this port forward those Metadata to a HDR ready TV via #SK9Y ARC Port?
Does #SK9Y Soundbar play audio lossless streams (coming from a player connected via HDMI IN Port) like Dolby TrueHD?
ARC Port is HDMI 2.0b version? Any plans to upgrade to 2.1 (eARC Port Standard)?
Thank you!
A:Answer4K Pass-through is a feature that allows a video source to pass unaffected through the LG 5.1.2 ch High Res Audio Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos®, Model # SK9Y directly to a connected 4K TV without any processing. That means any data that is contained within the video source signal will be unaffected and will be passed through to deliver an exact video output to a 4K TV without compromising image quality, and it is HDCP 2.2 compatible...^IFV
A:AnswerThe LG 5.1.2 ch High Res Audio Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos® Technology, Model # SK9Y works with Google Assitant and all you need is another device with Google Assistant built-in like the LG ThinQ® Speaker and it must be registered in the Google Home app. It does not work with Amazon Alexa devices...^IFV
A:AnswerI have only used one HDMI cable running from my LG TV's Audio Return Channel (ARC) HDMI port to the sound bar. That one HDMI cable turns the bar on whenever the TV is turned on and will send whatever audio source (Blu-ray player, Apple TV, Apple AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad or antenna) to the sound bar. I do not have a receiver. The OLED LG TV is the central connection for all of my devices.
The HDMI cable I used was a 3'-4" Pearl 4K UHD HDMI cable with a throughput that exceeds 18Gbps. It is manufactured by audioquest.
The Dolby Atmos sound it delivers is pretty amazing.
Hope that helps.
