Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do have the 55EF9500.. Using HDMI from SAT set top box to TV, then using the optical output from TV shows "PCM" on my AVR. Connecting using optical output from SAT set top box to my AVR directly and telling the AVR to use that input, now shows "Dolby Digital" on the AVR display. My AVR doesn't have ARC on the HDMI.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I owned the LG55EC9300 OLED 2014 model it did not pass 5.1 only PCM - You might check some professional reviews on the 9500 if you can find them.
