Hello, Bruce. The LG 6.3 cu. Ft. Smart Induction Slide-in Range with Convection and Air Fry, Model # LSIL6332FE, is designed for closed-door broiling. The door must be closed to set the Broil function. If the door is open, the Broil function cannot be set and "door" appears on the display. Close the door and reset the Broil function. If the door is opened during broiling, the broil burner turns off after five seconds. The broiler turns back on automatically once the door is closed. During normal broiler operation, it is normal for either element to cycle off intermittently...^Ivan.
