Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Curved screens are supposed to give a wider viewing angle. But with the flat screen purchased, it has the same viewing angles as a curved screen, at a much better price. also makes it possible to mount on a wall without a special bracket.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Curved Screens reduce glare significantly and give you a more natural viewing experience. Flat TVs are better for large rooms and better viewing angels. I personally still like the flat panels.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Manufacturers claim it creates a more immersive viewing experience by bringing the edges closer to you, but I believe this is just a gimmick. In fact, some people reported seeing distortion in the picture.

But the short answer is that it is a marketing gimmick for display sizes smaller than 120" or so. There is almost no real benefit other than to provide a "theatre like experience." You'll see this even theatres ... not all screens are as curved as say true IMAX, for instance, because it isn't necessary. The market difference is that when a viewer is seated in the center (>90 degree from display's center point), the all portions of the display can be viewed optimally because the curvature causes the screen to be equidistant from the viewer. On smaller displays, however, this effect isn't really a benefit and actually may be a problem for people sitting out-of-center. It's nice, I like them, but not worth the extra money just yet. I was considering an LG 4K 65" flat LCD against a smaller curved display.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your inquiry is appreciated. There are only a select few curved screens in LG's selection of Ultra HD 4k TV's and OLED TVs and they tend to be TVs ranging from 65" and above. They are benefits to the curvature of the screen with the primary benefit being of a more immersive viewing and that it creates a wider field of view for the viewer. As the edges of the screen move closer to the viewer, it can improve visual perception due to the increased area of peripheral vision achieved. This is actually something that you experience every time you go to the movie theatre where they have used curved screens for the longest time now. As far as the technologies employed in Curved Screens versus Flat Screens, they are no differences. It's just that you tend to see the newer technologies using the curved screens, but the selections will offer screens as either curved screens or flat screens with the same features and technology!...IFV
