  • Questioni have an external antenna to pull in local channels as i dont have cable &some of the local channels i want arent on LG streaming list. I'd like to know if the G4 series has a DTSC tuner 4 the new Next Gen format, or would i need to buy a set top box?

This tuner allows you to receive over-the-air broadcasts of local channels that are broadcasting in the ATSC 3.0 format, providing access to new features and improved picture quality. You should be able to use your external antenna to pull in these channels without needing to purchase a separate set-top box.
