  • QuestionIs the power source 3 wire or 4 wire

    Asked by MarkB.

    • Answer Hello, there! Thank you for sharing your question with us about the LG Dryer (DLE6100W). The power source can be connected using either a 3‑wire or a 4‑wire electrical hookup, depending on your home’s outlet configuration. Newer installations typically require a 4‑wire connection (two hot wires, one neutral, and one ground) to meet updated electrical codes, while older homes may still use a 3‑wire setup (two hot wires and one neutral). You can explore the full feature list and support details here: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-7-3-cu-ft-electric-dryer-with-sensor-dry-white/JJ8VPZ6896. When installing, it’s important to match the dryer cord to your outlet type and follow local electrical codes. If you’re unsure, your retailer’s installation team or a licensed electrician can confirm the correct hookup for your home. — Avril

    Asked by Cord.

    • Answer No, it has to be purchased separately.

      Answered by THOMASB

  • QuestionDoes the electrical cord require a 3 or 4 prong outlet

    Asked by C.

    • Answer As with any other electric dryer, regardless of brand or manufacturer, you can use a 30-amp, 240-volt, 3-wire or 4-wire, UL-listed power cord with #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor and closed-loop or forked terminals with upturned ends, with the Energy Star® Qualified LG 7.3 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer with Sensor Dry - White, Model # DLE6100W. Check your local building codes or consult with your local building inspector to determine which one can be used in your home. A 3-wire connection is NOT permitted in new construction after January 1, 1996. A 4-wire connection MUST be used where grounding through the neutral conductor is prohibited for: (1) new branch-circuit installations and (2) areas where local codes prohibit grounding through the neutral conductor. If your laundry room already has a 3-wire connection, you can legally continue to use an existing 3-wire connection in buildings built before January 1, 1996. Under the National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 250.140 Exception, these older 3-wire high-voltage installations (typically used for heavy appliances like electric clothes dryers and cooking ranges) are officially grandfathered in, provided they met the safety and building codes at the time of construction. However, strict limitations and specific safety rules apply to maintaining or working on these legacy circuits. However, strict limitations and specific safety rules apply to maintaining or working on these legacy circuits. To safely and legally keep a 3-wire configuration in an older building, the setup must satisfy all of the following criteria from the grandfathered exceptions. The exception applies strictly to existing branch circuits. The original wiring must run completely uninterrupted from the electrical panel to the outlet box. The 3-wire circuit must originate directly from the main service panel where the neutral and ground buses are bonded together. It is highly illegal and unsafe if it originates from a downstream subpanel. The neutral wire acting as the ground (the grounded conductor) must be insulated, unless it is an uninsulated concentric wire that forms part of a Type SE service-entrance cable. You lose the right to use the grandfathered 3-wire configuration if you move the physical location of the dryer or range outlet—even by a few feet—the circuit is no longer considered "existing". You must run a new 4-wire cable from the panel. Performing a major renovation or changing out the electrical panel generally triggers a code requirement to pull fresh, dedicated 4-wire circuits for these high-draw appliances. Per federal regulations, mobile and manufactured homes are completely prohibited from using 3-wire appliance circuits, regardless of when they were built...^Ivan.

  • QuestionCan I pick up today

    Asked by Jermaine.

    • Answer You can pick up the LG 7.3 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer with Sensor Dry - Monochrome Grey, Model # DLE6100M right away from Best Buy, provided the specific model is currently in stock at your local store or nearby warehouse. Before heading out, use the Best Buy website or mobile app to verify that your chosen electric dryer model is marked as "In Stock" for same-day pickup at your preferred location. Do not leave for the store until you receive a notification stating your order is ready. Processing usually takes a few hours. If your local retail store doesn't have it on the showroom floor, check for Best Buy Warehouse Pickup options nearby, which frequently hold larger appliance stock for immediate retrieval. Standard electric dryers do not fit in sedans or small SUVs. You will need a pickup truck, a large cargo van, or an open trailer to transport the appliance safely. Major appliances should be transported vertically to protect the internal components and drum suspensions from damage during transit. Bring a valid photo ID and your order confirmation number. If someone else is picking it up for you, you must explicitly designate their name on the order during the checkout process...^Ivan.

    Asked by Lori.

    • Answer The dryer rebates that Best Buy advertises or displays for dryers are offered by local utility companies. To make finding these deals easier, the retailer hosts a dedicated Best Buy Appliance & Smart Home Rebate Finder Tool. This system connects shoppers directly with regional energy savings. Best Buy actively partners with utility companies nationwide to promote energy-efficient models. Shoppers can enter their ZIP code into the portal to reveal localized utility offers. These utility promotions can often be combined with active manufacturer rebates displayed on product pages on Best Buy. • QuestionWhy does my dryer keep shutting off before the time is over?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi, there! Thank you for sharing your question to us about the LG Dryer (DLE6100W). When the unit powers back on after an unexpected shutdown, it usually points to one of three things: • Interrupted power can cause the cycle to stop mid‑run if the electrical supply briefly drops. • Small loads may also finish early because the items don’t make enough contact with the moisture sensors, which makes the remaining time quickly reduce to 15–20 minutes, then 6 minutes, before shutting off; adding a few extra items or choosing Speed Dry or Timed Dry keeps the cycle running as expected. • Lastly, residue on the sensors can prevent accurate moisture detection, so giving the sensors a quick cleaning helps the dryer read the load correctly.
