QuestionJust got this washer and dryer set 2 days ago. Washer has a high pitch sound that is awful and dryer is the loudest dryer I’ve ever heard, sounds like a jet in the laundry room. This can’t be right, I’m thinking it has to be a defective pair.

- Answer Yes, something is wrong. My dryer is super quiet and I have not experienced any high pitch sound. This is my second LG dryer of this model. I owned my previous version for 3 years and never had any issues.

QuestionI have this dryer and love it. The only thing I don't like is that the interior light does not come on when opening the door, unless you have powered on the dryer. Is this normal?

- Answer I've had this dryer for 15 months and the light is a convenience but works oddly. When the cycle stops, the light comes on and stays on a few minutes, but not generally long enought to empty the dryer. I fold/hang my clothes as they come out of the dryer so one at a time. If you empty everything all at once into a hamper for example, you'll have no trouble with the light being on long enough. The weird part is that to re-light the light, you have to turn the dryer back on, then hold the "drum light" touchpad for 3 seconds. The light will then come back on for some period of time. Very unintuitive, and unnecessarily cumbersome.

QuestionWe are interested in purchasing this dryer and the companion LG washer. We do not want to connect these "smart" appliances to the Internet--we prefer to keep things simple. Can we ignore the smart features? Thanks.

- Answer I am not using the remote feature of this machine. I am using them in the traditional old fashioned way very successfully. This was not a selling point for me as I’m not very good at working these new technologies.

Questiondoes this model have a door that open from right to left?

- Answer The model is delivered and installed with the interior of the door facing the left - the door pulls out to right. It can also pull from the top down (partially). The manual explains how to switch the swing direction yourself. It's a complicated task but not impossible! 2 hours of project time.

QuestionWhat is the added steam installation requirement for the steam function how is it installed etc

- Answer They make a steam dryer kit that I bought at menards. It's a small hose that attaches to a y and it hooks up to the cold water for your washer. Then 1 hose goes to the dryer and then you take the hose from your washer and hook it up to the other part of the y. It's super easy

QuestionHello, Is anyone with this dryer getting a D80 error randomly? Geek Squad came out and replaced the circuit board, but it didn't fix the issue. There is no blockage, the exhaust pipe is clean.

- Answer Hi, it may be necessary to have a yearly vent appointment by a professional vent cleaner to clean your vents. Before you do this, please be sure to remove all lint from your lint tray first. Behind the dryer, check that the exhaust hose between the dryer and the wall is not crushed, dented, kinked, compressed, or coiled over like a spring . If it is, please resolve this as this may cause the D80 error code. Moreover, please confirm there are no holes in the exhaust hose or loose connections. Should all these points have been checked and you're still having this error code, please contact us at 800 243- 0000 from (Mon. to Sun. 8AM - 9PM EST). We'd be happy to further assist! ^Chris

QuestionCan the app for this dryer be used by multiple people on various devices? For example, if my sister installs the app on her phone and I install it on my phone, can we both use the app (obviously at different times) to operate the dryer?

QuestionI'm not planning to use the steam function until I move into a new house. If installed without a water hookup should this machine function fine in all other settings other than "Steam..." or should I expect an error message?

QuestionIs there an option for the dryer door to open downwards all the way to where it’s flat? Mine currently only opens from the top partially.

- Answer No, it will open downwards only partially or it can open from the side. You will need to have the installer mount the door to open from the side you prefer. It will not open downward into a flat position.

QuestionThis dryer has a steam function. Does this require a water line hookup?

- Answer Yes. It connects to the cold-water line via a T that then will supply the washer and the dryer. The steam feature relies on the heat within the dryer drum to vaporize the water sprayed into the drum. Steam is only available on cycles with Medium or higher heat.
