  • QuestionHi. I ordered this dryer and received it this morning. I tried to install it by my self but the power code is not included. Why the power code is not included? Where can I get it?

    Asked by flysky.

    • Answer Unlike Gas dryers that come with a power cord attached that can be plugged into an individual grounded outlet rated at 120 VAC, 60Hz, electric dryer cords are sold separately to ensure that they comply with your state and local wiring codes. The codes can vary significantly from state to state, and even city to city. Manufacturers for Electric Dryers cannot anticipate the final destination for a dryer so they don't include a power cord with the dryer, so it has to be purchased separately according to your local codes or ordinances or in their absence, with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70. The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.4 Cu. Ft. 8-Cycle Electric Dryer with FlowSense™ - White, Model # DLE3400W has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hertz, single-phase circuit, fused at 30 amperes (the circuit must be fused on both sides of the line) A 30-amp, 240-volt, 4-wire, UL-listed power cord with #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor and closed loop or forked terminals with upturned ends or a 30-amp, 240-volt, 3-wire, UL-listed power cord with #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor and closed loop or forked terminals with upturned ends can be used. A 3-wire connection is NOT permitted on new construction after January 1, 1996 or in areas where local codes prohibit grounding through the neutral conductor. A 4-wire connection is required for all mobile and manufactured home installations, as well as all new construction after January 1, 1996 or in areas where local codes prohibit grounding through the neutral conductor. If you are not sure which connection is permitted in your area, you can check your local building codes or consult with your local building inspector or a qualified electrician.Best Buy should carry the power cords and if they don't, you can find it at any home improvement store...^IFV

  • QuestionIs this dryer 220v ? If so, can I safely use a converter to use it at 110v ?

    Asked by Tama.

    • Answer The ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 7.4 Cu. Ft. 8-Cycle Electric Dryer with FlowSense™ - White, Model # DLE3400W has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hertz, single-phase circuit, fused at 30 amperes (the circuit must be fused on both sides of the line). ELECTRICAL SERVICE FOR THE DRYER SHOULD BE OF THE MAXIMUM RATE VOLTAGE LISTED ON THE NAMEPLATE. DO NOT CONNECT THE DRYER TO 110-, 115-, OR 120-VOLT CIRCUIT. Regrettably, we do not have any information about the converter that you intend to use to determine if it is safe to use with this dryer. We highly recommend that you first check with the converter's manufacturer about using it with an appliance and if it is safe to do so...^IFV

  • QuestionWhat is the vent availability (need as far as 160 ft )?

    Asked by Question.

    • Answer Ductwork is not provided with the ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 7.4 Cu. Ft. 8-Cycle Ultra Large Capacity Electric Dryer with FlowSense™, Model # DLE3400W. You should obtain the necessary ductwork locally. Venting must conform to your local building codes. You should only use 4-inch (10.2 cm) rigid, semi-rigid or flexible metal ductwork inside the dryer cabinet and for venting outside. If you have a 4" (10.2 cm) wall cap, the maximum length of 4-inch diameter rigid metal duct you can use is 65 feet (19.8 m) with no 90° elbows. If you use one 90° elbow, then the maximum length of 4-inch diameter rigid metal duct you can use is 55 feet (16.8 m). You will need to deduct 6 feet (1.8 m) for each additional elbow and you should not use more than four 90° elbows. If you have a 2.5" (6.35 cm) wall cap, the maximum length of 4-inch diameter rigid metal duct you can use is 55 feet (16.8 m) without any 90° elbows. Again, you will need to deduct 6 feet (1.8 m) for each additional elbow and you should not use more than four 90° elbows. In the United States, only those foil-type flexible ducts, if any, specifically identified for use with the appliance that comply with the Outline for Clothes Dryer Transition Duct, Subject 2158A, should be used...^IFV

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer There are some well rated stacking kits that claim an ability to match (for example) 27” stackable LG dryers with many stackable Samsung and other brands of washers. Just found this on Amazon “ KSTK1 27-inch Laundry Stacking Kit by Blutoget - Solid Metal with Chrome Coated”

  • QuestionDoes this take a 3 wire or a 4 wire electrical cord

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer The dryer can be connected with either a three-wire or four-wire cable. The outlet in your home will determine which you should use. A connection diagram for both cable types is on a label attached to the rear panel of the dryer.
