  • QuestionWhat actually is FlowSense?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer FlowSense is LG's marketing name for a sensor that detects blockage in the dryer vent. In other words, if your vent tubing becomes filled with lint in sufficient quantity that it creates enough backpressure, the sensor will detect the airflow restriction and give you an alarm. It is a good idea to take your dryer vent piping apart every two years and vacuum out and/or brush the lint from the tubing. Depending on the age of the dryer, the amount of lint and the temperature setting you can have a fire in ducting.

  • QuestionHi I purchased the DLG3401 gas dryer last month and Best Buy installed with a flexible hose vent with one 90 degree elbow. When I run the installation test it show error d80 identifying a flow sense problem. How can I fix this problem?

    Asked by Sri.

    • Answer I can only think of one other problem if your flex pipe wasn't damaged (pinched) during installation. If the solid pipe the flex pipe connects to travels any measurable distance, try clearing it. There may be enough lint/debris in the line to cause the flow sensor error. I cleaned hardline before installation, and my flex line has two 90's, and no problems. Hope this helps.

  • QuestionWhere is the lint filter in this machine? Would love to see a video of it being opened and cleaned out.

    Asked by AnonB.

    • Answer Hello there, AnonB. Thank you for reaching out about your LG DLG3401W gas dryer. We understand your situation and are here to help you locate and maintain your lint filters for optimal performance. The primary inner lint filter is located at the bottom of the dryer’s door opening—simply open the door, reach in, and pull up on the filter handle to remove it. Behind that, you’ll find the outer lint filter in the same compartment; grasp its sides and pull it straight out to remove it. Troubleshooting step: Empty the dryer: Remove all laundry before you begin. Clean the inner filter: Open the filter, tap out large lint clumps, then use a vacuum or gently rinse under running water. Ensure it’s completely dry before closing and reinserting. Clean the outer filter: Vacuum or rinse away lint, let it air‑dry, then press the sides to securely close before placing it back. Check the clean filter indicator: It may blink on power‑up to remind you to check both filters—clearing them promptly helps reduce drying time and energy use.
